EnigmaKey is a two factor mutual authentication technology utilizing PKI where the login is based on “something you know” and “something you have”. EnigmaKey technology provides unparalleled levels of online security through challenge and response exchanges generated by a proprietary combination of software and hardware. When the users attempt to login to the secured website, they are prompt to enter a password that unlocks the security device. This password is not stored anywhere and used to decrypt the information stored on the security device. Once the security device is unlocked, the users’ computer is able to respond to the challenge sent by the website using the keys stored in the security device. The website, using the GateKeeper, server provided by Protectia, verifies the responses and if the users possess the right credential, the session begins. |
